Our approach
Experiential futures
Often future scenarios remain either too abstract or too technical - staying distant to citizens, who are not able or interested to participate with opinions and ideas. We explore how futures prototyping, collective imagination and experiential futures could make futures more accessible and participatory.
Examples of our work:
Room 2050 with Finnish Prime Minister’s Office and Expert Panel on Sustainable Development
Futures simulation for National Commission on Sustainable Development
Futures afternoon at Museum of Technology
Policy design
We work with governments to develop better policies through participation, futures and systems change.
Examples of our work:
Leadership programme supporting Latvia 2050 - national strategy for sustainable development
Finnish Food Strategy 2040 implementation and systems change
Systems steward coaching for Finnish child protection innovation programme Soila
Article for Sitra: Learnings from 8 Finnish government innovation labs.
Systems change
Driving sustainability transformations is about systems change. Working at different levels of the system - from grassroots to strategy levels is needed to drive change and transitions.
Examples of our work:
Scaling social innovations for youth wellbeing with Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and Itla
Päijänne-linja - a high school programme combining futures skills, nature and sailing.
Transition village Jupperi - a climate participation experiment in Espoo.
Lab
Our lab is a platform for experimentation, shared learning and communities.
